Types of Maps
There are many types of maps used for basic mapping of rural communities. Topographic maps are aerial view maps indicating elevation difference over a landscape. Topographic maps usually have lines indicating equal changes in elevation like 25, 50, 100, 500 meters. A cross-sectional map is a map showing a cross section of a landscape, building, or feature. A third kind of a map can be a sketch. The sketch can be in the form of a aerial, perspective, or second-hand form.
